I just posted this on Bernie Sanders's Facebook page :
Joe Orlow it seems to me that some things Bernie Sanders says don't make sense. That will not prevent my supporting him. Some things he plans to do makes sense on some level, but I think would make bad policy because they would be impractical to implement efficiently. That will not prevent my supporting Bernie. He deserves our support because he's a straightshooter. If he wins the presidency, the impact on democracy in America and worldwide will be of historical proportions. The New American Revolution.
some things Bernie Sanders says don't make sense
Bernie says wild things, like that the scientific consensus is that global warming exists and is basically caused by activities under the control of people. That is not the case. There are many reputable scientists who dispute the premise of man-made global warming.

Bernie wants to provide universal, free higher education. Seems like a good idea until one examines it. A student attending a school of higher education and the correlation to future income: the onnection between degrees and jobs isn't always there. And consider: free higher education will thus mean a kind of welfare system for adults between the ages of eighteen and twenty-two.
But Bernie shoots straight. What he says is what he thinks, and vice versa. A vote for Bernie is a vote for the principle that only straight shooters deserve to be elected officials. The same goes for Dinald Trump. I don't sgree with hom on all issues. But he's not messing with the electorate's heads. If he says he's going yo build the Wall, he plans to build the Wall. Again, whetther the Wall is a good or bad idea is not the issue here. The issue is finding and supporting straight candidates.
So to those who find a candidate whom they agree with, yet a candidate who shifts his positions like a kid shuffling food around on his plate that his parent insists he eat but for which he, the kid, has no appetite: I say fine! Vote for your chameleon! But don't wonder to me later, saying, "I was ripped off!" A fool is someone who votes for a candidate who has no intention of living up to the platform which he, the candidate, ran on.
